Midsummer Night's dream (movie)

SETTING:
  This play takes place in  Ancient Athens where women must marry the man her father tells her to , this is why in the play Hermia was going to have an arranged marriage with Demetrius when she wanted to marry Lysander instead. But Hermia couldn't choose her say "no" as if she did, she would be killed according to law.

  Another setting is in the woods. In the wood is where the fairies such as Oberon , Titania and Puck lives. The woods is the same place where the actors such as Nick Bottom, Tom Snout and Snug practiced their play. The woods is also the place where Lysander and Hermia wanted to meet up to run away from Athens.

 Characters
Puck-----Int he movie,  you can see Puck while int he book you can't even imagine him.In the book you may think that Puck is young as he makes a lot of mistakes and is firgiven easily by others.Butw heny ous ee the movie , Puck is actually very grown. He is just very clumsy.

 Nick Bottom----- in the book it does not quite mention Nick Bottom's wife and his unhealthy relationship witht he wife.But int he movie it shows Nick Bottom coming home in dirty clothes and his wife , looked at him with no love in her eyes.

 Plot
The plot of the movie and of the play are pretty much the same.Its just that the movie or book cuts out some little parts of the book such as the lines and chracter.

   For example , in the book,  they did not say that Nick Bottom was bullied by children , the children threw juice on Nick Bottom's white suite and Nick stayed calm and went home.

 Theme
Bullying----- When all the actors were getting their parts, some naughty children threw a bucket of juice in Nick Bottom's clothes.That is mean for two reasons one, the children embarrassed Nick in front of many people and two, therew as no bleech back then so Nick had to either wash really hard or throw away his beautiful white suit.

 Forgiveness-----When the children bullied Nick Bottom,  Nick didn't shout or punish them in any way. Nick just took ac ouple of deep breaths and calmly walked away.This act from Nick Bottom shows that he is a very forgiving man.We should be more like Nick Bottom.

 Arrange Marriage-----In the play Hermia was going to have an arrange marriage with the man she did not love, Demetrius.This shows that the play had arrange marriage.

 Moral
From this movie,  I've learnt that we be forgiving like Nick Bottom and not lose our temper easily. 
This moral is different from the book because in the book,  it does not tell you how Nick Bottom was embarrassed by children.

A Midsummer Night's Dream (Act 1 , SCENE 1)

ACT   #1 , SCENE #1   In act 1 scene 1, Theseus (duke of Athens) and Hippolyta (queen of the Amazons) are talking about their wedding day in just four days as they are very excited. Later after Theseus finished his conversation with Hippolyta. Egeus came to ask Theseus for some advice as her daughter , Hermia who refuses to marry the man her father has chosen for her, Demetrius who is in love with Hermia and wants to marry her. But Hermia wants to marry Lysander as they are both in love ; therefore she refused to marry Demetrius. But Theseus explains to Hermia that she must listen to her father and marry a worthy gentleman like Demetrius. Midsummer night's dream (Act #1, SCENE #2)

Act #1 , SCENE #2   In act 1 scene 1 , is a whole different scene with a whole different pile or characters. The scene start off when a group of people are gathering to talk about a play they're going to act out tomorrow night which is "The most distressing comedy , and the cruel death , of Pyramus and Thisbe.".These people who are included are Quince (the carpenter) , Snug (the joiner)  , Bottom (the weaver)  , Flute (the bellows-mender)  , Snout (the tinker)  and Starveling (the tailor) .   The theme of this play is mostly on envy of people's roles.It goes when Quince tells Nick Bottom to play the role as Pyramus , a character who kills himself very gallantly for love.Athough Pyramus was an amazing and sad role, Nick Bottom didn't want to play the role as Pyramus, he wanted to play the role as Hercules or play a swaggerer, as these roles are very heroic.      Later Quince told Francis Flute that he was going to play the role as Thisb...
